MOODBOARD AND RESEARCH

While conducting research about the Franklin Gothic typeface, I found that it was primarily used in newspapers for headlines and body copy. I decided to design my brochure like a newspaper with the addition of bright colors for a modern touch.

COVER DESIGN

To contrast the inner spread, I incorporated a black background for the brochure’s cover. The black background accentuates the bright color palette even more, making the cover stand out.

INNER SPREAD DESIGN

I took inspiration from newspapers when designing the inner spread and kept the layout rather blocky and uniform. I utilized horizontal lines to recreate a newspaper headline and justified the body copy to mimic the uneven spacing between words, hyphenations, and minimal white space that newspapers have.

MOCKUPS

After designing the cover and inner spread, I used Adobe Photoshop to produce a mockup of the brochure.
